Fire Hazard Prompts Polaris ATV Recall

|

Polaris is recalling almost 10,000 all-terrain vehicles due to a possible fire hazard. The company has issued the recall for 2014-2016 Sportsman 570 Touring and X2 model ATVs and 2017 Sportsman 570 6x6 models. These have one or two seats and four or six tires with “Sportsman” printed on the steering column side, and “Polaris” is printed near the front grill. The company has been informed of 35 cases of damaged fuel rails and leaks. Luckily no injuries have been reported. These ATVs were sold nationwide from Polaris dealers from May 2013 through December 2016 between $7,700 and $11,000. Polaris recommends that consumers should immediately stop using the ATVs that are recalled and contact the company directly for repair.

Consumers are guarded by product liability laws which help protect them against any injuries caused by faulty or defective products. Manufacturers, companies, distributors, and retailers are responsible for producing, manufacturing and selling safe and reliable products to consumers. This also means that any injuries sustained due to faulty or defective products could be the responsibility of the company. Always contact a qualified product liability attorney if you or a loved one has been injured due to a faulty or defective product. Medical bills and any added expenses could be the company’s responsibility if they are found negligent.
