Chicken Recalled Due to Plastic Contamination

|

Schreiber Processing Corp has recalled around 2,330 pounds of chicken tender products due to possible plastic contamination and misbranding. The product that is affected is a 10-pound box of Meal Mart Battered & Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders that is coded 03-CTB with production code 0246. These were produced on December 8 and packaged on December 9 and sent to retail locations in Washington, New York, and New Jersey. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service were alerted from a consumer complaint, and there haven’t been any confirmed reports of injury or illness. The company urges consumers to throw away or return the affected product.

Product liability laws hold companies liable for injuries that their products cause. Often when products are recalled the retailers will refund the full amount paid or replace the parts that are faulty or defective. In more serious cases these recalled products may cause severe injuries to consumers. Unfortunately, with these injuries come medical bills, therapy needs, rehabilitation appointments and possible home modifications if the injuries are life-altering. Contacting a product liability attorney after an accident is a must. An experienced attorney will investigate your case and determine if you have grounds to pursue legal action for your injuries.
