Airlines Employee Trapped During Flight

|

An airline baggage handler became trapped in the cargo holder of a United Airlines regional jetliner during an hour long flight on New Year's Day. Officials say the employee was trapped on a flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Dulles International Airport in Washington. The employee narrowly escaped harm and was rescued after the United Airlines Flight 6060 landed at Dulles on January 1. United Airlines has launched an investigation into the accident but has not released any details. According to officials, the Embraer E170 reached an altitude of 27,000 feet. The cargo area is pressurized, but many hazards can occur. An airline spokesperson said that the baggage handler is employed through a vendor for United Airlines.
