Missouri Parents Killed On Family Trip To Disney World

|

A Missouri couple has tragically died in an auto accident while on a Disney vacation with their two small children. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a family from Leadwood, Missouri was in a terrible crash that left the parents dead and their two small daughters with serious injuries. Troopers report the family veered off the road to avoid a collision with a vehicle that drifted into their lane. The family struck a tree, leaving the parents deceased and their 13-year-old and 8-year-old daughters hospitalized. The crash occurred near Orlando on Interstate 4. Police say the family was on the way to the beach for the day. The family had spent the days prior at Disney World. Family members say the parents had been saving for months to take the girls on the trip.

Police say the driver that crossed into their path was a 43-year-old male from New London, North Carolina. He was unharmed. Police have not yet charged the man. According to a local news station, family members are traveling to Florida to tell their girls their parents are dead and to bring them back to Missouri. Police say the accident is under investigation and alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
