Elderly Driver Responsible for Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Investigators in New York are attempting to determine the cause of a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Saturday evening. The incident occurred in Batavia at approximately 7:01 PM. According to the police, 58-year-old Joseph W. Ogozaly was attempting to cross the intersection of Main and Bank Street when he was struck by a pickup truck. An unidentified elderly driver was operating the truck and pulled over a short distance from the accident to view the damage on the vehicle. He told police that believed he had hit a curb and was unaware that he struck a man. Ogozaly was transported to a hospital where he died from the injuries he sustained in the accident.
