Driver Cited in School Bus Accident

|

On Wednesday, investigators determined that a driver was responsible for school bus accident. The accident occurred in Hillsborough County, Florida on Wednesday afternoon. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a school bus transporting 31 elementary students collided with an SUV at the intersection of U.S. 301 and Cowley Road. Two children were injured and transported to the hospital by ambulance. The students attend Summerfield Crossings Elementary School and the current condition of those injured is unknown. The bus driver received a citation for failure to yield.

Bus accidents can be severe not only for the size of the vehicle but also for the amount of occupants a bus can transport. While all auto accidents can be alarming, school bus accidents are especially frightening due to the involvement of children. Every parent wants to have confidence that their child will be safe at all times, and when an accident occurs that could have been prevented, it is heartbreaking. Every auto accident should be completely analyzed to determine if those injured have grounds to file a case in an attempt to obtain justice and recover compensation. Once liability is established, victims could receive compensation for medical bills, lost wages, property damages, pain and suffering.
