Auto Accident Involving Six Vehicles Killed Three People

|

During the evening rush hour, a head-on collision caused a chain reaction crash that claimed the lives of three individuals. The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. in Livonia, Michigan. According to authorities, a Lincoln sedan operated by an 80-year-old man was traveling on Five Mile when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Ford Focus in the intersection of Five Mile and Levan. The man and two women, ages 67 and 88, traveling in the Ford were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Four additional vehicles were also involved in the accident and several people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment of their injuries. The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.

The vast majority of all auto accidents are caused by reckless and negligent driving. While the majority of drivers do not intentionally cause car accidents, their failure to operate a vehicle responsibly places them with the liability of the crash. Distracted driving, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and fatigued driving are examples of reckless actions demonstrated by a driver that result in a traffic crash. If you have been injured due to the careless and negligent driving of another individual, it is important to contact an experienced auto accident attorney.
