Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Tractor-Trailer

|

A fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Thursday when a woman was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. The accident happened near Nephi, Utah when a female passenger was traveling in a Honda Pilot along Interstate 15. According to authorities, the woman attempted to exit the moving Pilot at around 2:40 p.m. for unknown reasons. The driver pulled over on the side of the roadway trying to keep the woman in the vehicle. The woman jumped from the vehicle and ran into oncoming traffic. Tragically, she was then struck by a tractor-trailer and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and is trying to determine if the woman was suicidal.

A pedestrian accident is one of the most deadly types of auto accidents. The impact of a motor vehicle and a pedestrian is often unforgiving, resulting in life-altering injuries and death. Speeding, distracted driving, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol are often to blame for pedestrian accidents. All individuals that have been injured or lost a loved one in an auto accident may be entitled to compensation for their medical bills, lost wages, and emotional damages. If you have been the victim of a pedestrian accident, you owe it to yourself to contact an experienced auto accident attorney.
