A boating accident has claimed the life of a 26-year-old National Guardsman in Nevada on Monday. A boater at Pyramid Lake noticed the Guardsman’s truck had been unoccupied late into the night on Monday and he notified emergency crews. Tragically, the man’s lifeless body was located on Tuesday by police. The cause of death and the details of the boating accident have not yet been determined, and authorities are continuing to investigate the accident. The deceased served four years with the U.S. Air Force and joined the National Guard last spring. He had received numerous awards and the National Guard released a statement expressing their condolences to his family.

One type of auto accident that is often overlooked is that of boating accidents. Each year there are hundreds of boating accidents that injure and kill individuals. Similar to traffic accidents, the majority of boating accidents are also caused by a form of negligence. Distracted boating, operating the boat under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding, and aggressive boating are often the cause of boating accidents.
