Investigators are working to determine a cause for the collision and the driver is cooperating with the police.

There are millions of people that travel in vehicles on the roadways every day. However, there are also numerous individuals that choose to walk as their preferred method of commuting and exercise. Due to the large number of traffic accidents that occur annually, many pedestrians believe that walking is safer than traveling in a motor vehicle. Unfortunately, pedestrian accidents result in nearly 5,000 deaths every year. Pedestrians can follow every possible safety precaution to avoid an accident, but the reality is that the driver is typically responsible for the accident by operating their vehicle recklessly. Distracted driving, speeding, driving under the influence, and fatigued driving are often the causes of pedestrian accidents. The collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian can be tragic, and can result in serious injuries and death.
