Driver Killed in Hazelwood Car Accident

|

A female driver was killed in a single-vehicle car accident on Wednesday morning. According to Hazelwood police, an officer responded to a disturbance call at Jay’s Bar and Grill located on North Lindbergh Boulevard. As the officer arrived, he noticed a Chevy Monte Carlo driving erratically to leave the location. The officer attempted to pull over the Chevy, and the driver sped away. The officer claims he did not pursue the vehicle but followed without his lights and sirens activated. He witnessed her swerving, and she turned onto Howdershell where she crashed the vehicle. The driver had collided with a utility pole and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The accident is under investigation, and the identity of the driver will not be released until the family is notified.
