Dog Bites Two People, Kills Two Dogs

|

A dog attack in Pennsylvania injured two individuals and killed two dogs. The incident occurred Monday morning in Lehigh County when two pit bull mixes escaped from the fenced yard where they were kept, and their owner resides. The dogs had killed a dog and began attacking a smaller one when the dogs’ owner and a neighbor tried to pull them away. In the process, the dogs bit both individuals resulting in minor injuries. Police arrived during the attack and shocked the pit bull mixes with a Taser, which caused them to stop the attack. Unfortunately, the dogs had caused fatal wounds to the other dog resulted in its’ death. The dogs will likely be euthanized and their owner, 36-year-old Nicholas E. O’Kane, was cited for the incident.

An individual that suffers a dog bite can sustain not only physical damage but severe emotional damage from the traumatic event. Premises liability laws place the responsibility on the dog owner in the event of an attack. Dog bites, slip and falls, and food poisoning are all examples of injuries or illnesses that may be grounds to file a premises liability case. To properly determine if your dog bite injury is grounds for a case, it is necessary to consult an experienced St. Louis dog bite attorney.
