Two tractor-trailer crashes kill one and hurt another

|

Saturday afternoon on Interstate 64 in Illinois, a driver of a semi truck was injured in a two-vehicle crash. Furthermore, the accident happened when the 37-year-old semi driver swerved to avoid a major collision with another vehicle. 19-year-old, Calvin Dye Jr. was heading west on I-64 in his Hyundai when he tried to change lanes in front of the semi. As a result, the semi driver swerved, and, unfortunately, couldn't avoid the crash. The semi flipped on its side, and its contents spilled all over the roadway.

After witnessing the crash, several passers-by, including a nurse, stopped to help the semi driver, which was trapped inside his vehicle. After the semi driver had been pulled from his truck, he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment for minor injuries. Miraculously the driver of the Hyundai was uninjured in the crash. All lanes of traffic were shut down for three hours for cleanup of the accident. To learn more about this accident, please click here.
