A Toyota Prius
crashed into a thermal processing building in Indianapolis, Indiana. Police officials
reported that the car was traveling too fast and crashed into the building
landing 20 feet inside and on its side in the building’s front office
and conference room. It’s reported that there were nine people inside
the building, but everyone was able to get out safely. The driver, in
his late teens, was taken to a local hospital after being extricated and
was in critical condition. Authorities indicated that there were no obvious
signs of alcohol or drugs at the scene and officials closed the area for
several hours due to the crash.
There are around 50 vehicle store, or business front crashes each day which
injures thousands yearly. Commonly, these accidents are caused by a pedal,
and operator error with retail stores and businesses being the most common
sites crashed. This is extremely concerning because of shoppers, employees
and pedestrians are at risk by being struck by a driver. Injuries that
occur with these accidents can be severe and even life-alerting. Medical
