Manhunt for Driver of Hit and Run Accident

A hit and run accident startled a mother and her baby who lay sleeping in the safety of their home while just 10 feet away from someone slamming their car into the two mini-vans sitting in their driveway. The mother was shocked when she came outside after hearing the accident to find broken glass and plant matter scattered everywhere. Witnesses in the neighborhood told law enforcement that a dark gray Honda drove through a fence, crashed into the vans, revved the engine, and proceeded towards a party down the street.

Law enforcement questioned people at the party, but no one there would cooperate. Without the cooperation of others, the police will have a much harder time identifying the person responsible. If they are unable to find the driver the victim will be left will the financial burden of repairing their vehicles. The mother was visibly upset as she told a reporter of her disappointment in the driver’s decision not to take responsibility for their actions. She is hopeful that someone will come forward to assist the Police in catching the driver and is very thankful the crash only involved to vehicles in the driveway realizing the outcome could have been much worse.

Missouri law requires that drivers remain at the scene of an accident to exchange information with those involved. Provided that a driver at fault of a hit and run is identified, you have the ability to file a claim for damages with the driver’s insurance company. It is important to contact a personal injury attorney if you have suffered from a hit and run accident. Meyerkord & Meyerkord, LLC will investigate to see that the driver’s insurance company compensates you fairly and doesn’t try to give you a rushed settlement. If necessary, we will take the case to court. Contact us to set up your free consult with one of our St. Louis personal injury attorneys today.
