A California woman was seriously injured in a
pedestrian accident at a 7-Eleven store. According to police, a 43-year-old female was struck
by a vehicle while she set outside a 7-Eleven store on Airport Road in
Carlsbad. The woman suffered serious injuries to both her legs and was
taken to the hospital. Carlsbad Police say the woman was sitting on a
block wall in front of the store in the 900 block of Palomar Airport Road,
around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday. A driver was attempting to pull into a parking
space at the convenience store when she accelerated the vehicle, drove
over the curb and struck the woman pinning both of her legs.
The Carlsbad Police Department says they do not suspect alcohol was involved
in the accident. The driver has been identified as a 34-year-old Los Angeles
woman. Emergency crews took the victim to the hospital by ambulance. The
accident is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
