Early morning on Monday in Missouri, a 24-year-old St. Louis woman died
when she struck a traffic light on St. Charles Rock Road. According to
police, just after midnight, a westbound driver of a 2003 Chevy Impala
lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a westbound 1997 Infiniti QX4. The
crash caused the Infiniti driver to lose control of his car, and the vehicle
slammed into a traffic light. The 24-year-old passenger in the Infiniti
was killed in the wreck. Two others in the car and the driver of the Impala
all suffered serious injuries.
Hours later, a young motorcyclist was killed in Washington Park after a
car struck the rider. Police say the accident occurred Monday night at
around nine p.m. near the intersection of Kingshighway and Hollows. The
driver of the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist fled the scene. Authorities
are looking for the driver of either a red Ford Taurus or Escort. Witnesses
told police the driver was last seen fleeing the scene on Illinois Route
111 towards Fairmont City. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital
where he later died.
