Motorcyclist Struck Twice In Louisville Traffic Accident

|

A Kentucky motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries during an early Monday morning traffic accident in Louisville. A spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department said the motorcyclist was struck twice during a collision on 7th Street Road. LMPD reported the motorcycle crash occurred about 3:30 a.m. on Monday when a driver of a passenger vehicle struck the motorcyclist while attempting a U-turn on the right lane of northbound 7th Street Road into the southbound lanes. Authorities say the motorcyclist flipped over the car, landed on the roadway, and was then run over by a third vehicle traveling northbound on 7th Street Road.

Emergency responders say the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital. His condition is unknown. 7th Street Road between Berry Boulevard and Oleanda Avenue was shut down for several hours. Both drivers stayed on the scene and cooperated with authorities. The investigation by LMPD Traffic Unit continues. It is known if the driver of the first car who caused the accident will face charges.
