A fatal vehicle
accident took place in Chicago on I-94 on Sunday around 9:30 in the morning. The
accident occurred when a Chevrolet Trailblazer veered out of its lane
of traffic, collided with a Cadillac, then crashed into a concrete barrier.
This resulted in the SUV rolling and the ejection of the driver. The Illinois
State Police reported that the woman driving the vehicle was traveling
at a quick rate when the accident took place. Additionally, she was not
wearing her seat belt. Tragically, she passed away at the hospital after
the accident. The two people that were in the Cadillac at the time of
the accident were both wearing their seatbelts and were injured minorly.
Seat belts are extremely important when practicing road safety because
they reduce your chances of fatality when in a vehicle accident. Additionally,
speeding is also a factor that is often seen in fatal accidents. It is
involved in one out of every three accidents in which there is a fatality.
By driving according to the speed limit and wearing your seatbelt, your
chances of getting into a fatal accident are greatly reduced.
