Two Teens In Jennings Killed Friday Night

Friday night, two Jennings’ teens were killed, and four others were
seriously injured when their vehicle hit a tree. According to St. Louis
County Police, the single-vehicle
crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Shannon Avenue.
Officials say there were six people in the car at the time of the crash
and the deceased male victim was in the rear passenger seat and died instantly.
The second deceased male victim died later at the hospital. Four other
passengers were taken to a nearby hospital and are in critical condition.
The identities of the victims have not been released, but authorities
say the two dead were a 15-year-old and 16-year-old. The driver of the
vehicle survived the crash.
The single-vehicle accident is under investigation, according to the St.
Louis County Police Department. The department had also insisted the help
of the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction unit.
At this time, it is believed the accident was caused by careless and reckless
driving. Police say the driver of the vehicle did not have their driver’s
license. Police say the speeding underage driver will be referred to the
St. Louis County Family Courts. Police say only one of the teens was wearing
a seatbelt at the time of the crash and she suffered minor injuries.
Thousands of passengers are killed by careless and reckless drivers, especially
