Street Racing Believed to Be Cause of Accident

|

A vehicle crash occurred in Woodland Hills on Tuesday around 4:48 p.m. Allegedly, the accident involved a green 2015 McLaren 650 S, a gray Audi Sedan, and possibly a black Dodge Charger or a Challenger. Witnesses that were around the scene of the accident reported that one of the sports cars was traveling at a fast speed when the multi-vehicle accident took place. As a result of the road crash, the McLaren was totaled, the Audi was in very poor condition, and the third car fled the scene of the accident. Additionally, two people were taken to the hospital to receive medical attention for their injuries. It is thought that the crash may have been related to street racing.

Street racing is both extremely dangerous and illegal. It occurs when motorists illegally use public roads to race their vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Administration, street racing was reported to be involved in 135 fatal vehicle accidents in 2001.
