Speeding Factor in Fiery Crash

|

A fatal vehicle accident took place in Bustleton, Philadelphia around two in the morning on Saturday. The accident took place on Grant Avenue when a 2000 green Acura and a 2003 gray Infiniti went airborne, then struck each other. As a result, the Acura struck a utility pole before catching on fire. The Infiniti spun before coming to a stop.

Tragically, the driver of the Acura passed away at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Infiniti and the passenger were both taken to receive medical attention for their minor injuries. A bystander who was at the scene reported that before the accident took place, the two vehicles were seen driving next to each other at a high rate of speed. It is thought that racing might have contributed to the accident.
Illegal road racing causes many accidents every year and puts racers and other drivers on the road at risk. Since racing involves traveling at very high speeds, speeding is a factor in many racing accidents. Speeding is responsible for one in three auto accidents.
