Pedestrian Dies After Being Left For Dead By Hit-And-Run Driver

|

A California pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident in San Diego over the weekend. The victim was found by a passerby, badly injured, and in a gutter near the intersection of Jackson and Blue Lake drives. San Diego Police say the accident happened in the Lake Murray neighborhood just after 6 a.m. According to the San Diego Police Department, an unknown driver was southbound in the 6200 block of Jackson Drive. The driver hit the pedestrian as he made a left turn onto the 8400 block of Blue Lake Drive. Police say the pedestrian was crossing in an unmarked crosswalk. The driver fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian to die.

Someone found the man severely injured and called 911. Police say the man was in his 50’s. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he passed away days later due to a head injury. The SDPD is searching for a suspect in connection to the fatal accident. Police are asking anyone with information to please contact the San Diego Police or Crime Stoppers.
