Motorist Saves Motorcyclist's Life After Crash

A St. Louis surgeon saves the life of a motorcyclist on the road after a serious crash. The multiple-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle closed three lanes of 1-55 northbound in south St. Louis. Complete details of the accident have not yet been released, but what is known is a motorcycle and two other cars were reported in an accident at approximately 1:45 p.m., near the 7th street exit on northbound I-55. According to authorities, the motorcyclist was seriously injured during the accident. Another motorist, who happened to be a surgeon, pulled over to help the motorcyclist. St. Louis Firefighters report the surgeon saved the motorcyclist's life by stopping an arterial bleed, which could have been fatal. The motorcyclist was then rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition remains unknown. No other injuries were reported. The accident is still under investigation.
