|

A New Jersey woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident involving a NJ Transit bus. The woman, described as in her 60’s, was struck by the bus just before 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in Newark. According to police, the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by the bus as it was turning from Mount Prospect Avenue onto Heller Parkway. The woman was rushed to the hospital by emergency responders and is in critical condition. Officials report she may lose both of her legs. Three passengers were on the transit bus at the time of the accident. The accident is still under investigation and it is unclear whether the pedestrian or the bus had the right of way.
