Special Needs Child Neglected By School

|

A special needs child was left on a Goddard school bus on Thursday in Kansas. The Goddard School District was responsible for transporting the elementary-school-aged child to special education summer classes at a Maize school. The special needs child was found on a Goddard school bus hours after the child should have been dropped off at school. The child was found on the bus by a Goddard bus barn employee. The student is now safe and did not receive medical attention. An investigation has been launched hoping to uncover exactly how this happened and how long the child was on the bus. The Goddard Public Schools states they are deeply sorry for the incident. There are frequent safety training meetings for all bus drivers and today the driver failed to follow the process.
