Missouri Teenager Dies In Mysterious Drowning

A Missouri teenager is dead after a mysterious drowning at a country club swimming pool in Kennett on Saturday morning. The Kennett Police Department received information concerning a possible drowning at approximately 7:19 a.m. The incident had occurred at the Kennett Country Club before the business was open. According to investigators, a 19-year-old, along with a group of people, went to the country club to swim while the business was closed. For a currently unknown reason, the 19-year-old was in need of medical assistance, and emergency responders were contacted. The boy was transported to the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center and later flown to Cape Girardeau, where he was pronounced dead at the Saint Francis Medical Center. The incident remains unclear and will continue to undergo investigation. Kennett Police are encouraging anyone with information about the drowning to contact the Department. The country club was unaware that the group was swimming at the pool before hours of business.
