Passenger Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident

|

A two-vehicle accident in Asheboro, North Carolina on Saturday claimed the life of a woman. According to authorities, 50-year-old Wanda Harden was a passenger in a pickup truck when another pickup truck struck her vehicle. The driver of the vehicle Harden was traveling in had reduced speed in an attempt to make a right turn. Michael Kevin Marsh Jr. was driving the truck following Harden’s vehicle and failed to reduce speed, veered off the right side of the roadway in an attempt to avoid the collision, and then struck the passenger side of the truck. Harden was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Marsh was cited for failure to reduce speed and misdemeanor death.

Single vehicle accidents, head-on collisions, truck accidents, motorcycle crashes, and SUV rollovers, are just a few of the many types of auto accidents that injure and kill thousands of people annually. Most people have become callous to the daily news reporting about tragic auto accidents due to their regularity. However, it's estimated that 37,000 fatalities are caused by traffic crashes every year, according to the Association for Safe International Road Travel. Just as the types of auto accidents vary, so do the causes of these crashes. Vehicle design flaws, mechanical defects, dangerous roadways, and reckless driving are to blame for the vast majority of auto accidents. A thorough investigation can determine the exact cause of the accident, as well as who is liable which could provide grounds for an auto accident case.
