On Saturday morning, a hit and run accident resulted in the fatality of a teen and the driver has now been charged. The accident happened in Montgomery County, Texas when 31-year-old Eric Ellison was traveling on Roadway Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign. His Chevrolet Uplander collided with a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Tamon Willis who was traveling westbound on FM 1485. The impact was severe and Willis was killed in the crash. To legally operate a motor vehicle, all individuals must obtain a driver’s license after their 16th birthday. All drivers receive an education regarding the traffic laws, the importance of operating a vehicle responsibly, and the risks of reckless driving. One of the traffic laws every driver is informed of is remaining at the scene after an auto accident. Failure to remain at the scene to exchange information and assist in the investigation can lead to criminal charges.
