Bicycle Accident Claims Life of Popular Man

|

A popular Oklahoma City man was killed in a bicycle accident on Thursday. The accident happened on Thursday evening when Donnie Cashion was struck by a vehicle. According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, an SUV failed to stop at a red light and collided with Cashion in the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd. and N.E. 63rd St. Tragically, authorities pronounced Cashion dead at the scene of the accident. He was a well-known bicyclist in the area.

Bicyclists and pedestrians are at a greater risk of suffering a serious injury or fatality than any other traveler. As they travel, they are defenseless to a collision with a motor vehicle. To attempt at making themselves as visible as possible, pedestrians and bicyclists are encouraged to wear reflective garments, carry a flashlight, and walk in a crosswalk or sidewalk. Unfortunately, the actions of the pedestrian are often obsolete because a pedestrian accident is typically caused by the reckless actions of the driver. Distracted driving, fatigued driving, speeding and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol are the most common causes of bicycle or pedestrians accidents. To ensure that the at-fault driver is held accountable for your damages, it is important to contact an experienced personal injury lawyer.
