Two Planes Collide on West Coast

|

The Coast Guard and the Federal Aviation Administration are working to determine the factors that led to a plane crash on Friday. According to the Coast Guard, the incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. when two planes collided off the coast near Los Angeles. Little information is currently known regarding the crash, and an underwater recovery has begun along with the investigation.

Aviation accidents do not occur as often as auto accidents due to fewer aircraft traveling in the sky compared to motor vehicles on the roadways. However, when an aviation accident happens, the results are catastrophic. Planes travel thousands of feet in the air at high rates of speed causing an impact to be devastating. Similar to all accidents, aviation accidents can have a variety of factors and causes and negligence is typically to blame. Pilots, air traffic controllers, mechanical crews, and the airline can all be responsible for a plane crash. The most effective way to determine if you have grounds to file an aviation accident case is to consult a plane crash attorney.
