Train Accident Kills Woman in Arkansas

|

On Thursday morning, a train accident involving a car claimed the life of a woman in Arkansas. The accident happened just before 10:30 a.m. when an 86-year-old woman was operating her vehicle in Wabbaseka and attempted to cross railroad tracks on U.S. 79. Tragically, a westbound train struck the vehicle and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It is unknown what company the train belonged, but police did indicate that it had 108 cars. Authorities are investigating the accident and reported that there are no cross arms at this crossing.

Train accidents are one of the most deadly types of auto accidents due to the severity of a collision between a train and a vehicle or pedestrian. Train accidents can occur due to the negligence of a conductor, controllers, or railroad company. Many train accidents occur at railroad crossings where there is a lack of warnings signals and devices. Regardless of the circumstances, a full investigation should be conducted to determine what caused the accident and who is responsible. In order to hold the negligent party accountable, it is imperative to consult an experienced personal injury attorney.
