Woman Arrested After Crashing Into Police Vehicle

|

An Indianapolis woman was arrested after she crashed her car into a local police vehicle and fled the scene. Police reported that the woman was leaving a nearby neighborhood when she collided with a police car that was heading eastbound. The woman fled her car with her young child and ran back into the neighborhood. Officers tracked her down at her mother’s home, and they took her into custody. Authorities were called to the scene to treat her injuries. They temporarily closed the intersection down for an investigation, and it has been reopened.

Car accidents can result in minor scrapes to multiple car pileups, and it’s estimated that there are 10 million vehicle accidents each year. Several factors can lead to a car accident. Distracted driving has become more prevalent with technology soaring on phones, tablets and even in the vehicle itself which can cause a motorist to take their eyes off the road. Drowsy driving is another scary factor and has been linked to being just as dangerous as driving under the influence. Even missing one to two extra hours of sleep at night can affect your alertness and reduce your reflexes. Excessive speed can result in drivers losing control of the vehicle more easily and also decrease your stop time reflex. This is very dangerous to not only the driver but another motorist as well and can cause serious car accidents. An experienced attorney can aid in determining if you have grounds to pursue legal action.
