Nursing Home Found Negligent After Resident Struck By Facility Bus

A lawsuit has been settled against a Wyoming
nursing home after one of their residents suffered injuries after being struck by a
vehicle driven by a member of their staff. The lawsuit was settled for
an undisclosed amount after the legally blind victim was struck while
waiting for a ride by the Poplar Living Center. The suit reported that
the resident has reported pain and numbness in his arm since the accident.
The Poplar Living Center has been sued six times in six years. The lawsuit
claimed that the victim was left alone to wait for the bus because the
facility is understaffed. The Polar Living Center released a statement
that they are improving the care at their center.
Nursing home negligence is often caused by insufficient training, poor
supervision, understaffing and under qualified hiring. Sadly, there are
many forms of negligence that affect elderly patients. Always look for
signs and report anything that looks suspicious. Bed sores, dehydration,
malnutrition, medication mismanagement and sudden behavior changes can
all be attributed to negligence. At Meyerkord and Meyerkord, LLC, we are
dedicated to helping victims gain their voice back and obtain the compensation
they deserve for their damages. We work hard to hold negligent companies
responsible for any and all injuries sustained due to nursing home negligence.
