Authorities Believe Speeding Caused Accident

|

A fatal vehicle accident occurred in Cocoa, Florida on Wednesday around 10:00 in the morning. The accident took place when a 2007 GMC pickup truck was traveling southbound on Grissom Parkway at a fast speed. Control of the vehicle was lost by the driver and the truck overturned. Tragically, the driver passed away as a result of his injuries from the accident. The passenger was taken to receive care for minor injuries.

Traveling at fast speeds can make a vehicle harder to control and can lead to a driver losing control of their vehicle. Additionally, speeding is involved in one out of every three fatal vehicle accidents. Ford Motor Company reported that fifteen percent more fuel is used by a vehicle when it is traveling 65 mph compared to when it is traveling 55 mph. Furthermore, they reported that more carbon dioxide goes into the atmosphere as more fuel is used by your car. Every year, about 13,000 people pass away in speeding-related vehicle accidents.
