15 Injured in Pennsylvania Chain Reaction Accident
Posted By Meyerkord & Meyerkord, LLC
At least 15 people were injured in a 13-vehicle
crash in Pennsylvania. The pile up is credited a weather-related chain reaction
accident that included five tractor-trailer trucks and several passenger
vehicles in western Erie County. Witnesses and victims said that they
could see the accident that started the chain reaction. The fifteen people
injured were transported to local hospitals for their injuries. The Department
of Transportation temporarily reduced the speed limit on the interstate
and state police are asking people to refrain from driving unless necessary.
Weather related car accidents can be caused by rainfall, snow or sleet,
icy pavement or slushy pavements. It is estimated that 1,259,000 accidents
are reported each year due to weather-related conditions. Average speed
can be reduced due to these conditions and make it even more dangerous
for drivers. What’s also dangerous? Drivers who don’t slow
down or drive excessively and dangerously in bad weather conditions. These
drivers can cause serious accidents that can injure other drivers and
passengers. Always contact an attorney if you have been injured in a car
accident. An attorney can investigate the accident and determine if the
driver was negligent.
