Trump Scarves Recalled Due to Burn Risk

|

Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, has a clothing line and thousands of scarves are being recalled due to a potential burn risk. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the scarves are manufactured in China and do not meet the federal flammable standards. From October of 2014 through January 2016, the Ivanka Trump scarves were sold online and at retail stores. The recall is for 20,000 scarves made of rayon and any consumer in possession is eligible for a full refund if they return them to their place of purchase.

Product recalls are viewed by many people as a positive thing to prevent illness or injury of the consumer. However, the majority of all the recalls are issued after the product has been linked to an illness or injury. These damages are typically preventable and caused by the negligence of the manufacturer. Products that are defective and dangerous products that are not properly labeled with a warning cause thousands of damages each year. Manufacturers should focus on producing a quality product to ensure the safety of consumers opposed to mass quantities that increase their profits.
