Missouri Child Injured in Hit and Run Accident

|

The mother of a young boy in Bonne Terre, Missouri is furious after her son was injured in a hit and run accident. According to authorities, the boy was crossing the street with some friends when he was struck by a vehicle. The 8-year-old boy reported that he felt severe pain, and the female driver exited the car and asked him if he was alright. He told her he was ok, and she jumped back into her vehicle and drove away. However, the boy was not ok. He suffered a fractured skull, several cuts, and numerous bruises. Fortunately, he is expected to make a full recover, but he will have a recovery period that restricts him from playing baseball and enjoying other activities. On Tuesday, the driver contacted the police and informed them that she would turn herself in on Wednesday.

All drivers have made mistakes while driving, and some have unfortunately led to auto accidents. However, leaving the scene of an accident, especially when involving an injured victim, is the most selfish act a driver could perform. Not only is it the law to remain at the scene of an accident, but it is also the humane thing to do.
