Driver Crashes Car into Gym, Killing 1 and Injuring 5

Tuesday in California, an 80-year-old driver who was confused by the petals crashed into the Livermore gym. Furthermore, after the car crash, five people who were working out were injured and one person was killed. Of the fatality, 49-year-old, Katheryn Baker was killed, and was also the CFO of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

According to police, the unidentified elderly female driver was trying to park her SUV outside of the LifeStyle RX gym when confused the brake pedal with the gas. As a result, the driver then went over the curb and crashed into the gym more than 60 feet inside. Of the injured, all were working out of the TRX suspension training. Additionally five of the injured people were treated for minor injuries, and the driver of the car crash was not injured as well. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the pedestrian crash, although the accident is being investigated.
