Two Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident

|

An auto accident in Northwest Missouri has resulted in two individuals sustaining moderate injuries. The accident happened on Saturday morning at approximately 2:30 a.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 30-year-old Trey Holmes was operating a pickup truck with a 15-year-old male passenger along Highway 111 at the time of the crash. Holmes crossed the median line, veered off the roadway, into a creek and collided with an embankment sending the truck airborne. Both occupants were injured in the crash and taken to the hospital by private vehicle. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the accident to determine the cause.

Auto accidents such as truck accidents, single-vehicle accidents, head-on collisions, drunk driving accidents, and pedestrian accidents occur thousands of times each year. Car accidents inflict injuries and claim the lives of thousands of innocent victims and the majority of these accidents are preventable. Dangerous roadways, mechanical defects, negligent driving, and design flaws are all examples of factors that can lead to an auto accident. Each of these examples also has a negligent party that is responsible for the cause, and those parties should be held accountable for their negligence.
