Hospital and Physician Sued for Medical Malpractice

|

A Glenview Hospital and one of its’ physicians have been named in a medical malpractice lawsuit filed by a patient. On September 25, Carol Saleh filed the lawsuit in Cook County, Illinois against Glenbrook Hospital and Dr. Steven Meyers claiming she has been the victim of medical malpractice. The complaint states that Saleh was seen by Dr. Meyers on March 9, 2014, and he failed to diagnose and treat her hypoglycemia in a timely manner. It also claims that Dr. Meyers and the hospital failed to perform sufficient tests and lab work to determine that she was suffering from a stroke. Saleh alleges that as a result of lack of treatment, she sustained a long-lasting stroke that was untreated for several hours. She is seeking $50,000 in damages, as well as the costs associated with the lawsuit.

In the event that a hospital, physician, or other medical personnel fail to care effectively for a patient, medical malpractice is demonstrated. Any patient that sustains injury or harm due to a medical professional's negligence or conduct, the individual may have grounds to file a medical malpractice case. Medical malpractice can be in the form of birth injuries, misdiagnosis, anesthesia errors, medication errors, infections, wrongful death, and surgical errors. Injuries, illnesses, and fatalities caused by medical malpractice can be difficult to handle, making it necessary to consult an experienced St. Louis medical malpractice attorney.
