Man Killed in Farming Accident

|

On Thursday, a man was killed in a farming accident in Greeley, Colorado. According to authorities, 25-year-old Aaron Sokoloski was operating a tractor when he was trapped between the tractor and a grain auger at his place of employment. There were no witnesses to the accident, and his co-workers were not near the location of the accident. Sokoloski was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Weld County Sheriff’s Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the fatal accident.

Workplace accidents are the cause of thousands of deaths and many more injuries in the United States. Even some of the safest occupations pose risks that could lead to a work-related injury or death. In Missouri, all companies that employ five or more workers, and nearly all construction companies, are required by law to carry worker’s compensation insurance. The insurance provides injured workers compensation for medical expenses and lost wages if time off work is required. However, the lost wages are only replaced at a rate of 66.6% of the worker’s average wage that can cause workers to suffer financially. If you have been injured in a workplace accident, it is important to contact a skilled St. Louis worker’s compensation attorney to receive the compensation you deserve.
