Ford Recalls for Fuel Leak

|

Ford has issued another vehicle recall for possible fuel leaks. The recall is for 452,000 cars that were manufactured in Mexico. Models affected are the Ford Fusion and the Mercury Milan produced from 2008 to 2011. Officials at Ford are saying that the air pressure fluctuates due to a valve on a canister that can become stuck. The changes in the air pressure are causing a crack on the top of the gas tank that leads to a potential fuel leak. Owners of the recalled vehicles should take their cars to dealers for an inspection and repair if necessary. The majority of the recalled vehicles are in the United States, and there are a few thousand in Canada and Mexico.

There have been a record number of vehicle recalls this year due to defective and dangerous issues. Product liability laws have been established and enforced to protect consumers from harm caused by a dangerous or defective.
