Another Food Recall Issued Due to E. Coli

|

A recall has been issued for celery products that were produced from Taylor Farms, Inc. due to a possible E. Coli contamination. The U.S. Department of Food and Drug Administration stated that the celery has been sold by several retailers in California including Albertsons, Costco, Sam’s Club, Save Mart, Safeway, Walmart and Target. The USDA is warning restaurants, consumers, and any other party that may have purchased the products that cross contamination can occur. The recall was issued after the Montana Department of Health discovered the E. Coli during a sample testing. This recall is also related to the multi-state recall issued a few days ago for Costco’s rotisserie chicken salad. Individuals that experience E. coli illness will experience symptoms such as severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, bloody stools, and possible kidney failure. Individuals in possession of the celery products are to discard them and thoroughly wash their hands or other items that the product may have come into contact.

This recall has been one of several food product recalls in the past year. Unfortunately, most items that are recalled have inflicted illness, injury, or death upon an individual prompting the recall. Product liability laws require manufacturers to produce items that will not harm a consumer. However, thousands of individuals seek medical attention every year due to defective and dangerous products. If a negligent manufacturer caused you to suffer damages, it is imperative to contact a skilled St. Louis product liability attorney.
