12 Errors Reported at VA Hospital

|

An investigation has discovered that a VA hospital in Cleveland has committed a dozen medical malpractice errors over the past two years. Since January of 2014, the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center has reported 12 malpractice errors to the federal government that include delayed diagnosis for cancer, dropping a patient during transportation that resulted in a head injury, and “skin burns’ sustained during surgery. It appears that several of the errors were reported but not made public. After a woman alleged her husband’s death was related to the medical malpractice of the hospital and staff, an investigation was launched revealing the past errors. The Cleveland VA Medical Center released a statement in response to the report stating that they work to provide the best care to all their patients and learn from any and all errors.

All medical personnel and facilities must provide the best treatment and care to their patients. In the event that an individual receives less than the acceptable level of care, they may have grounds to file a medical malpractice case. Medical malpractice can be demonstrated in several instances; however, surgical errors, birth injuries, and delayed or missed diagnosis’ are common examples of medical malpractice. Consulting an experienced medical malpractice attorney can determine if you have grounds to file a case in order to recover compensation for your damages.
