Ford Recalls 423K Vehicles Due to Power Steering

|

It seems as though these days there are more and more vehicle recalls than ever before. Likewise, Ford Motor Company has joined in the recent recalls due to a power steering issue. Nearly 423,000 vehicles including cars and SUV’s in the U.S. are being recalled because the power steering can fail while being driven. The following vehicles are included in the recall:

• Ford Flex

• Taurus

• Lincoln MKS and MKT 2011-2013

• Ford Fusion

• Lincoln MKZ 2011-2012

• Mercury Milan from 2011

According to Ford, an intermittent electrical connector can cause the steering to fail. Thus, the steering is sent into manual mode, which makes the vehicle harder to control. Dealers are now either updating the power steering or replacing the gear all together.

Ford is also recalling 19,500 2015 Mustangs with 2.3 Liter engines because they're getting too hot and thus degrading the fuel tank. As a fix, Ford is replacing Mustang’s heat shield and adding insulation.
