Baby cribs and furniture recalled due to excessive lead

|

If you have a baby, or young child at home, you may want to check the manufacturer of his or her furniture. Baby’s Dream Inc. is recalling thousands of cribs and various pieces of furniture due to excessive levels of lead paint in the product. Furthermore, 4,600 product items have been recalled because if the child ingests any parts of the paint on the furniture, it can cause severe nervous system damage due to the lead.

The cribs and furniture were sold in vintage grey paint, and sold under the following collections: Brie, Braxton, Heritage, Everything Nice, and Legendary. The product was made in Chile, and then sold through BabysDream.com furniture store between March 2014-March 2015. The affected furniture pieces include cribs, hutches, nightstands, bookcases, and chests.

Thus far, no injuries have been reported in conjunction with the recall. If you have any of the pieces of furniture, consumers are urged to contact the Baby’s Dream Company at 800-835-2742 to get more information.
