Trader Joe's and Wegman's walnuts recalled

|

Off the heels of the Kraft Macaroni & Cheese recall comes another for Trader Joe's and Wegman's due to potential Salmonella tainting. In addition, raw walnuts that were sold nationwide at the two stores are to blame. First Source, LLC, distributed Wegman's batch of the walnuts and locations they were sold at are: New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania under the label "Food You Feel Good About." There were about 85 locations total the walnuts were sold at between Jan. 27 through March 17, and come in a 6-ounce tub with a best before date of Jan. 27, 2016. Furthermore, customers can return the tubs to the store it was purchased from for a full refund.

Trader Joes stores distributed the walnuts across the country, and all have different best buy dates. Likewise, anyone that purchased organic and non-organic walnuts from Trader Joe's should return their product to the store for a full refund. Thus far no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. Symptoms for salmonella include abdominal pain and discomfort.
