I-270 spelled disaster for one St. Louis Missouri resident. 32-year-old Hafdis A. James was pronounced dead on the scene after a single vehicle accident took her life early Saturday. The car crash occurred near the Interstate at Gravois road in St. Louis County at around 12:15am. James was driving southbound on the popular highway when her 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier ran off the side of the road. James was attempting to pass another vehicle at the time when she struck a guardrail and was ejected on the vehicle. James was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the car crash. 47-year-old Robert L. Hopkins was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident; he is currently listed in serious condition. Similar accidents have been happening all across the St. Louis metro area.
