Father of Seven Killed in MI Workplace Accident

Sadly a hardworking employee and devoted family man was killed in a workplace accident in Zilwaukee, Michigan. Furthermore, 50-year-old, Steve Rivera was killed Thursday, May 28th when a 40-ton concrete beam rolled on top of him while he was at his job at Stress-Con. The company manufactures precast and pre-stressed concrete.

Rivera died at the scene and was found pinned underneath a concrete I-beam. When the workplace accident happened, the employees were in the process of taking the beam out of the mold and putting it on the ground when it hit Rivera. Tragically, Rivera is leaving behind his wife and seven grown children. Likewise, Rivera would’ve turned 51 the week of his death following the tragic accident. OSHA, the Department of Transportation are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
